Shardeum, the EVM-compatible Layer 1 blockchain pioneering dynamic state sharding, has achieved a critical decentralization milestone on its Atomium incentivized testnet, surpassing 20,000 active community-operated validator nodes. Backed by $18.2M from institutional investors including Jane Street and The Spartan Group, Shardeum is demonstrating that linear scalability can be achieved without compromising decentralized validator consensus.
The Atomium testnet has processed millions of cross-shard transactions, testing Shardeum's unique ability to dynamically increase network throughput as more nodes join the validator set. By eliminating the state storage bloat that restricts existing EVM networks, Shardeum ensures transaction gas fees remain permanently predictable and sub-cent.
Importantly, Shardeum's tokenomics commit over 51% of the total 508 million SHM token supply directly to community node operators and early contributors. Testnet participants who maintained continuous validator uptime, diagnosed network latency, and completed ecosystem dApp interactions are positioned for verified reward allocations at the upcoming mainnet genesis event.
