The race to introduce full smart contract programmability to the world's most valuable blockchain network reached a new milestone as Rooch Network launched its public testnet. Powered by the Move programming languageโoriginally conceived for enterprise asset securityโRooch allows developers to deploy composable decentralized applications that interact directly with native Bitcoin states.
Unlike traditional sidechains that require trusting centralized bridges, Rooch indexes the entire Bitcoin blockchain and validates UTXO state transitions off-chain with cryptographic proofs. This allows users to lock native Bitcoin and trade synthetic assets, mint decentralized stablecoins, or participate in algorithmic lending markets without relying on base-layer hard forks.
With seed support from HashKey Capital and SevenX Ventures, Rooch has launched its Pioneer Rewards campaign. Users bridging testnet BTC and executing transactions on Move smart contracts can earn pioneer points, providing early access to the upcoming ecosystem governance distribution.
