Spire has released its open-source software development kit designed to streamline the creation of 'based rollups'. By delegating the responsibility of transaction ordering to Ethereum Layer-1 block proposers, Spire rollups eliminate the security, governance, and regulatory burdens associated with maintaining centralized sequencers.
Based rollups inherit the full economic security, censorship resistance, and 100% historical uptime of the Ethereum base layer. Furthermore, because based rollups share the same block proposers, they can achieve atomic composability with other based rollups and Ethereum L1 smart contracts within the exact same block.
Development teams are invited to deploy sandbox rollups on the Spire Holesky testnet to test gas optimization and state transition verifications.
